The Precision 5530 comes from the **5000 series** — the thin workstation tier, and the closest thing to a workstation you can carry every day. A 2018 model, 15.6 inches, in an aluminium and carbon-fibre body with thin bezels on all four sides — a 15-inch screen in a body closer to a 14. The bargain it offers is clear: a discrete graphics card with certified design-software drivers, in a chassis and a weight you can put in an ordinary bag. That combination does not exist in the 7000 series, which is more powerful but far heavier. The limitation is the price of thinness: **cooling is constrained**. The machine warms up during long renders and throttles itself to stay safe, so it is quicker at intermittent work than at hours of sustained load. That appears in no specification and in no short test — which is why we run a 20-minute load on every unit and write it down when one throttles.

5530 or Precision 7730 — which is right for me?+
It is weight against power. The 5530 is thin and you can carry it daily, but its cooling is constrained so it throttles under long loads. The 7730 is a 17-inch machine, very heavy with a large charger, but its cooling and power are far higher and it sustains hours of rendering. If the machine will live on a desk, the 7730. If you carry it, the 5530.
Does it run hot and throttle?+
A thin chassis runs hot; that is true of the whole class. What matters is the state of cooling in the specific unit you receive — and that we measure: a 20-minute load, watching temperature and clock speed, and we write down the result. A machine that throttles is described as one, not sold as though it were like the others.
No numeric keypad on a 15-inch machine?+
None — because the chassis is thin and the bezels are slim, so the space is not there. If your work is numbers and spreadsheets and you need a keypad, look at the Precision 3551, the 7000 series, or the Latitude E5570; all of them have one.
What does it mean that a device is inspected?+
Each kind of device has its own written list it passes before being listed. An iPhone gets 18 checks: battery, screen (original or replaced), cameras, speakers and microphone, Touch ID or Face ID, mobile data and Wi-Fi, the charging port, and confirmation that it is not iCloud-locked or reported. A laptop gets 18: performance and temperature under a real 20-minute load, drive health read off the drive itself, memory, display, every key on the keyboard, and every port with a real device. Does the device carry customs tax, and what happens if I do not pay it?+
Every phone on the site says whether its tax is already paid, and when it is not, the amount sits next to the price. An unpaid device has a 120-day grace period — four months — counted from the day you put a SIM in and activate it on the network, not from the day you bought it. It is paid once, not monthly. If you would rather be done with it, transfer us the amount and we pay it on your behalf. The tax applies to phones only — not laptops, MacBooks, iPads or accessories.
How can I pay?+
Cash on delivery is the most common — you pay the courier at handover. We also take Visa and Mastercard on the bank's own page, mobile wallets such as Vodafone Cash, and InstaPay. Paying online carries no collection fee.
How long does delivery take?+

You have 14 days from the delivery date to exchange or return a used device, in the same condition it was bought and with everything that came with it. A new device can be returned or exchanged as long as the box is still sealed. Message us on WhatsApp and we will arrange it — every returned device is inspected within 48 hours, and we transfer the refund as soon as the inspection is done, through the method you paid with. Shipping costs in both cases are paid by the customer.
